Nominating Committee Report

The following slate of candidates was presented to the Board by the committee and accepted by unanimous vote of the Board members:

Ramona Baker, Gail Hanson, Doug Watt, Larry Matheny, Ed Yosses and Dawn Foltz.

This slate of candidates will be presented at the Election Game on January 31, 2007, to the Club Membership for a vote for 2007's Club Board.

Fort Collins Duplicate Players' Club Bylaws

The Bylaws have had minor modifications made to them.  They will be presented for acceptance to the membership at large at the annual Election Game scheduled for January 31, 2007.

Director's Meeting in February

Ginny informed the Board that there were Director courses available in February.  Two courses are available.  One is a refresher course; the second is on the ACBL Score computer program.  They cost $10-$20.  There was a motion to pay for the Club Director to attend the courses.  The motion was seconded and passed.

Attendance/Attitudes

It was noted by the Board that attendance increased with Ginny Steele as Club Manager.  She reported that she has sent letters and free plays to new players in town.  It was questioned if this was not a Unit function, but nonetheless, Ginny is doing it specifically for the FCDPC (Wednesday night group).  It was agreed by the Board members that this practice should continue.

Other ideas were discussed to increase attendance such as having two Team games per month rather than one since the Team Game generally has the best attendance; or sponsoring special events such as a night when Life Masters could not play with other Life Masters and would be encouraged to play with a non-Life Master.  It was agreed that this topic be tabled for the 2007 Board to discuss further.

Treasurer's Report

Ginny presented a Treasurer's Report, which was accepted by the Board.

Club Manager

Ginny announced her resignation as Club Manager. The board accepted Ginny’s resignation, effective January 31, 2007. The board will seek a replacement Club Manager ASAP.

Next Meeting:  Will be scheduled in the first quarter of 2007, with the newly elected Board members.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:30 pm.
